Garden fabric ideas

Summer is on its way! Now is a great time to be outdoors in your garden.

Fabrics

Fabrics

Fabrics aren't just for interiors they can be used to bring a sense of style into your garden - whether you have a large garden or a tiny courtyard. Use for cushions, tablecloths, bunting and in summerhouses.

Coastal

If you want to bring a coastal feel to your garden then use striped fabric in shades of sea blue and sandy beige.  Use to revamp the cushions for your garden chairs or perhaps to add a tablecloth for your table.  Revamp an old deckchair with deckchair fabric and bring a touch of the seaside in to your garden.

Coastal Summerhouse

If you have a summerhouse why not give it a nautical look.  Paint the outside in a pale blue and the inside in white or off white.  Add some comfy chairs covered in a striped upholstery fabric in shades of blue and white.  Add some cushions in a coordinating fabric depicting maritime themes such as shells or beach scenes.  You could also add some nautical accessories such as driftwood or coastal themed prints.

Flowers

Flowers

Bright and bold like a tropical garden or muted shades more reminiscent of a cottage garden, all floral fabrics look brilliant in a garden – choose one which suits your taste and personality.  Whatever print you choose these fabrics will bring a bright and cheerful look to your garden.

Summerhouses

Summerhouses

Florals also look great in a summerhouse, faded florals are perfect and provide a great link to the garden.  Use for cushions and curtains.  Don’t be afraid to mix floral patterns this will only add to the relaxed feel.  Just keep to the same colour palette and mix either small with medium size patterns or medium with large designs for the best look.

Moroccan

Moroccan

Bring a touch of Morocco into garden, use fabrics in rich colours of red, terracotta, and gold and have low seating and lots of cushions.  Look for accessories such as lamps which you can add candles for subdued lighting.

Accessories

Fairy lights could be used to bring a warm glow to the garden in the evening and perhaps use a fire pit to add some extra warmth.  It would also be a good idea to have some throws handy for when the evening starts to turn chilly.
