Summer Interior Trends for 2021

Are we all ready to embrace summer interiors trends for 2021? After a winter of being stuck at home, it’s time to give your home a refresh with our top three interior design trends for Summer 2021.

Cottage core Interiors - Bold Pattern

Cottage core Interiors - Bold Pattern

The Cottage core trend is inspired by idealized rural life. Typical motifs depict florals and fruit but in a contemporary manner, with bright colours and artistic brushstrokes. Although florals have been a huge part of traditional countryside aesthetic, the Cottage core aesthetic brings a new take with a hint of nostalgia.

We have an abundance of fabrics to help you create this look in your home - for curtains opt for the Chelsea Multi fabric, the design is filled with what makes Cottage core so great. Inspired by the 18th and 19th century botanical drawings, the Chelsea fabric depicts various types of florals and fruit. The bold design and striking colour palette will really make a statement in your room as full-length curtains. Why not pair with a classic ticking to complete the look? The JF ticking fabric in Ochre picks out the yellow tones perfectly, creating a coordinating scheme.

Bringing the outside in and embracing sustainable living, is another key trend for Summer 2021. During 2020 we reconnected with nature as more and more homes embraced a more sustainable lifestyle, and it does not have to stop there. You can rest easy knowing you have made a sustainable choice for the future not neglecting style. We have a fantastic range of eco friendly fabrics for all interior schemes.

If you prefer plain over pattern, then we would recommend the JF Recycled Linen. This has a textured woven finish suitable for all soft furnishings making it the go to fabric for most. It is made using 100% recycled linen and a great choice for curtains and blinds. The fabric comes in 20 timeless colours so I am sure you will find one for your scheme.

If you like bold designs, then the Palm House fabric will be perfect for you. This has been made using sustainably sourced cotton and part of the BCI (better cotton initiative) and depicts large tropical leaves. Choose the spruce colourway for a pair of eye-catching curtains or the Mist for a slice of serenity in a Roman Blind.

Japandi Interiors

Japandi Interiors

Japandi style combines classic Scandinavian look with the Japanese aesthetic. This Hybrid trend embraces natural tones and East meets West styling.

Minimalist trends are often underestimated when it comes to interiors. Japandi is a fusion of classic Scandinavian style with Japanese culture. The two bring texture and warmth to what could be a dull space. Voiles and sheers are great for bringing depth to a window - our JF Boucle fabric is a soft woven voile with a slubbed weave effect. This is perfect to allow light into your room with a touch of privacy. Pair with the Cotswold Heavyweight Linen fabric in the form of a wave curtain to marry the two together. Using a Linen fabric in a Japandi inspired scheme will bring a touch of rawness and embrace the fibers natural beauty.
