Decide On Your Blind Positioning
Firstly you need to decide whether you’d like your Roman Blinds to sit either inside or outside the recess. Inside the recess will cover more of your window whereas outside the recess will allow more light to come into the room.
Measuring for Inside the Recess
For inside the recess you will need to measure in three places; top middle and bottom of your window and take the smallest measurement for width and drop. This is because most windows are uneven and ensures the blind will fit into your space.
Measuring for Outside the Recess
For outside the recess we recommend fitting the blind 10-20cm above the window so the blind can stack up and maximise light. For the width we recommend adding 4-8cm on either side of the window so you have a good overhang either side of the window recess. You can also measure the width of the window by measuring your sill.
