Step 1
You will need: fabric, thread, cushion pad, scissors, sewing machine.
Measure your cushion pad - these instructions are using a cushion pad 30cm by 60cm but you can use any size cushion. The images are of a large cushion which is being used as a pet bed.
Cut a piece of fabric 92cm x 67cm. Turn and hem the edges of the two short sides.

Step 2
Lay out the fabric right side up and fold the two hemmed edges to the centre so that they overlap by 20cm. Machine the edges using a seam allowance of 2.5cm
Zig zag or overlock the raw edges.

Step 3
Turn the right way out and insert the cushion pad.
If you wanted you could add some velcro to the edge to keep them in place or if you want a decorative finish add buttons. However the overlap on the envelope is deep enough to hold its shape without gaping.
