Accessorise
If you want to keep the overall scheme neutral, but inject some colour for the summer season then buying some accessories in these colours is simple, inexpensive and will give your room a new lease of life. In a white bathroom, try a deep blackcurrant bath mat combined with redder tones of purple in the toothbrush holders. Try and include some warmer neutrals like sandy beiges, perhaps with some decorative candles to bring it all together. Accessorising with these colours in a kitchen works brilliantly when combined with reds and oranges for a harmonious colour scheme. Use some warm, deep reds together with strong, violet tones in some feature mugs or bowls, adding a touch of terracotta to finish off. In the living room having some cushions recovered or buying new ones in the key colours will lift the room immensely.

This look can be as feminine as you want it to be, but if you need to keep everyone happy then combining the purples and violets with tones of indigo and blueberry works great. A strong coloured curtain fabric in a deep velvet creates a real luxurious focal point in the room. Combine with different textures of silk, linen and cotton to add real depth. If you do want a feminine summer berries bedroom, then the options are endless. For a really contemporary look, choose a vibrant floral print in raspberry and strawberry tones. If you need it to be more traditional then choose a smaller, more detailed floral patterned fabric.
Children's Room
Even the kids can take advantage of this fab colour scheme. A blind made from a funky purple fabric looks great but always remember to use blackout lining in Children’s rooms to make sure they can sleep in the long summer days! Layering a blind with a coordinating fabric adds real interest to the window. Keep the rest of the room neutral and use some fun purples and reds in the bed linen to really complete the look.
Conservatories and Garden Rooms
These colours are perfect for rooms that have direct access to the gardens as they work so well with greens. Use a plain upholstery fabric for the chairs and sofas, accessorising with different cushions in the various summer berry shades.
