On trend: Blush Pink Fabrics

The colour pink is having a moment. Ever popular, it is especially the colour of choice for interiors this summer.

Maybe it is the blooming roses that are inspiring us to bring pink inside. Millenial pink, rose pink, blush pink are all soft light pinks that can be seen in interiors over the past couple of years. Pink tones fantastically well with the neutral of the moment: grey. We see it being used in bedrooms and living space photos on Instagram and in magazines.

It can be a love it or hate it colour and many consider it to be childish or too feminine. But there is no need to be scared of using pink, in moderation it looks soft and sophisticated not sugary.

Plain pinks

Plain pinks

Plain pink fabrics are the choice of the moment. At Just Fabrics we have two gorgeous pink linens, the Cotswold linen and the Cotswold chunkylinen that are very popular.

Strong colours are becoming popular in interiors again and pink will go well with strong burgundies such as Pantone’s Marsala, it also works alongside golds. We are seeing combinations of pink and gold velvet cushions. We have the JF Vintage Velvet in both blush and coral which are gorgeous.Velvet is a popular choice for cushions and chairs and sofas. Sculptural tulip like chairs in velvet are pictured in interior images.

Pink florals

Pink florals

Pink is a popular colour for florals, we have a whole range of florals that utilise pink. The popular Voyage decoration watercolour floral prints, like Hedgerow in cream and Ilinizas poppy natural both have strong pink tones. The new Patrice fabric includes pink rose hip berries. Carneum is another popular floral with pink hues. Pink hues on a cream or natural background is a way to soften the look of pink.

Pink patterns

It doesn’t have to be limited to florals, Newton in Pomegranate is a tartan wool which is a natural colour with a pink check.  There are pink check and pink stripes such as the Sutton and a multicoloured stripe that includes pink such as the Remake stripe. The Fernbank in blossom is a beautiful pink cloth with an embroidered cream fern leaf pattern. Pink is also classically paired in interiors with green, the Dash fabric has a print of painted daubs in greens, blues and pink.

Pink for children

Pink for children

Pink is a popular colour for children’s rooms. Our Fairytale fabric has pink fairies, there are pink flamingos in Florrie flamingo and Sophie Allport flamingos. You could combine a children’s print in curtains which can be changed as she grows with a plain velvet armchair which would last into the teenage years.

Pink is a great colour choice for contemporary or classic home interiors both for curtains and upholstery.
